4WD & Rough Terrain Forklift Hire (4x4 All-Terrain)

Heavy-duty 4x4 all-terrain forklifts built for mud, gravel, slopes, and unpaved construction sites across NSW and QLD.

Sometimes a standard forklift just doesn’t cut it.

Operating a forklift outdoors or on unstable ground is dangerous and can put you and your inventory at risk.

A rough terrain or 4WD forklift gives you total freedom on the jobsite. Whether it's working on uneven gravelly roads or a muddy slope on your farm, we have the forklift for you.

Our flexible 4x4 forklift hire lets you use a forklift however long you need it, whether it's a long-term rental to fit into your day-to-day business activities or a lifting and transportation solution for a one-off event or job.

What Makes a 4WD Forklift Different From a Standard Forklift?

4WD and all-terrain forklifts are quite different from the standard forklift that you see on most jobsites around Australia.

As the name suggests, a 4WD forklift is built for going off-road and has 4 large tyres that provide excellent grip strength, stability and absorb shocks on rough and uneven surfaces.

They are also built to handle much heavier loads than a standard forklift and perform best in construction, mining and agricultural environments or jobsites.

Tonnage & Model Comparison

Heavy Duty 4x4 Forklift Heavy-Duty 4WD 4.0 Tonne - 5.0 Tonne Large timber, steel, and heavy site handling

Can I Operate A Rough Terrain Forklift Indoors?

Technically speaking, you can, but it's not recommended.

While it is possible to drive them indoors, at the end of the day, they are built for driving outside.

If you decide to operate a 4WD forklift inside, it can lead to a dangerous buildup of diesel fumes, damage your floors and it might not have the clearance to fit through the door.

We recommend for outdoor use only. If you are looking for an indoor forklift, you can view our indoor electric forklifts here.

Choosing the Right Load Capacity Forklift For My Project

Choosing the right 4WD forklift truck for the job is essential to finishing your project on time while keeping yourself and your employees safe.

Selecting an underpowered forklift can lead to safety hazards like tipping and equipment strain, while an oversized one may be too bulky for where you want to go.

When choosing a 4WD forklift for your job, it’s important to consider the following:

  • What is the maximum weight you need to lift?
  • What is the average weight of your stock?
  • What type of material are you transporting?

You’ve got to make sure to account for your heaviest load (bricks, timber etc), including the weight of the pallet or any other attachments.

If you need help to figure out which capacity all-terrain forklift you need, our qualified team provide tailored advice.

Simply call us on 1300 360 936 to discuss your options.
