How often do I need to service the forklift?

Regular forklift servicing is very effective at helping to reduce emergency breakdowns, catch small issues before they become large ones, and help maintain the smooth operation of your business.

The industry guideline for forklift servicing is every 6 months or every 250 hours. However, if your forklift is used in rough conditions like a dusty environment or on uneven ground it may need to be serviced more often.

Check your forklift operation manual for the manufacturer service requirements specific to your machine.

What does a forklift service involve?

Our comprehensive forklift safety inspection and service (LPG) covers:

  • Full grease & lubrication
  • Oil filter & oil change
  • Full safety assessment
  • Check battery level
  • Check lift chains for wear
  • Check lights, seat & seat belt sensors, and other electrical systems
  • Check tyne wear

During the forklift service, our technicians will note any issues that require further investigation, safety issues, or repairs.

We understand that time is valuable, so we have fine-tuned our comprehensive service procedure to ensure the forklift is only out of action for around 1 ½ hours. (Based on servicing an LPG/diesel forklift under 4 tonne.)
